Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and Galaxy Suit S5670 pop up

Official photos of a couple of Samsung Android smartphones just appeared. The Galaxy Ace S5830 makes its second public appearance, while the Galaxy Suit S5670 is only now taking its first trip through Rumorland.
Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 was initially known as Galaxy Mini, when it leaked a couple of days ago. Apart from the new name, the newly leaked low-resolution shot doesn't reveal any new information about the handset’s specs sheet. So far we have Android 2.2 Froyo, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and an HVGA screen. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 are also confirmed, while GPS and microUSB seem like a pretty reasonable guess.

The Samsung Suit S5670 on the other hand, remains a complete enigma to us. Its model number and looks suggest mid-range functionality, so it might be the I5500 Galaxy 5 successor. Judging by the icons on the screen, the Samsung Suite S5670 is running Android 2.2 Froyo too.

It appears that Samsung will be quite busy at the MWC this year. We’ve already seen four Android smartphones, including the Galaxy S 2. Undoubtedly the Koreans will also have some Bada devices to show us and we might even see a new WP7 handset or two.

Samsung Galaxy S2 leakes a photo and some specs... again
08:24
sotar sadewa
More rumors about the successor of the Galaxy S appear on the radar. This time a Korean newspaper focuses our attention to the Galaxy S2 by “leaking” a photo of it, accompanied by some specifications.A couple of months ago we reported yet another rumor of the Galaxy S2 from what looked like Sammy’s leaked slides. Though the credibility of the slides is yet to be confirmed, we'd bet our money on the design offered there to be the real European-spec Galaxy S2. But who knows, that one here may be a regional version for either S. Korea or the US.
Back to the leak at hand, according to the Korean newspaper, the Galaxy S2 is going to run the latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, powered by a dual-core processor with unknown clock speed, a 4.3” sAMOLED plus screen (that's the next generation) and an NFC chip.
Whatever the truth about the Galaxy S2 may be, we’ll provide full coverage from the MWC 2011 so you’ll be the first to know everything about the device as soon as Samsung announces it.

HTC 7 Mozart review: Eine kleine Nachtmusik
23:03
sotar sadewa
The HTC 7 Mozart is not the kind we are used to meeting - and no, before you ask, it’s not a music-centric gadget as the name suggests. Something quite different in fact, it’s all about the camera that goes beyond Microsoft’s demanding specs. Once again, HTC are trying to escape from Microsoft’s cookie-cutter approach and the Mozart promises to let Windows Phone 7 show it can do more. There’s much to be excited about here and there’s bad news for some of the top cameraphones around. The HTC 7 Mozart is the first WP7 phone to go 8MP and the first one to pack a Xenon flash. Seems like plenty of cameraphone buffs are hearing Christmas bells already. We’ll pretend we don’t for a while and put on our shooting socks instead. It’s time to see what the HTC Mozart is really made of. So here we are again – reviewing another Windows Phone 7 device. Not that we mind though. And for a change, it’s not another case of struggling to put a face to a name. We’ve been there already: the OS limitations and the ensuing deal-breakers are no news to you. If you have your sights set on Windows Phone 7 you probably know everything there is to know about it. There’s much to love about the Metro interface – and there’s no denying some things about Windows Phone 7 just could’ve been better. But if your glass is half full rather than half empty – there’s good news. Microsoft are prepping the first Windows Phone 7 update, which will enable copy/paste and is supposed to bring some multitasking magic. It’s going to hit all WP7-based devices at the very beginning of next year. The Mozart itself is keen to offer you incentives such as the aluminum unibody design and some exclusive customizations courtesy of HTC. But first of all, the Mozart is a cameraphone and is venturing where no other WP7 has been. 8-megapixel-and-Xenon is a place where HTC have never been before either. So we’d better cut the introductions short, shall we? Let’s play.

Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab review: An expanding universe
22:53
sotar sadewa
Not so long ago the tablet was a futureless species, stuck in an evolutionary dead-end. The technology and the the operating systems didn't offer the right balance of portability and usability to suit its needs. But just look at it now...
It was the Apple iPad that made the first splash and many other tablets are on their way on following its steps. We guess Samsung’s had an easier job than Apple bringing it to market. They already had the Samsung Galaxy S in the works and just had to make it bigger. Plus, they didn’t need to go to great lengths explaining what a tablet is and what it does.

Official photos of the Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab
If nothing else, the Galaxy Tab makes the S in Galaxy S meaningful. But the Tab itself is not size XL. In a nutshell, the new Samsung tablet is a Galaxy S with 3 inches added to the screen and 2 megapixels taken away from the camera. The Tab is equipped with the same 1GHz Hummingbird processor and PowerVR SGX540 graphics accelerator, 512MB RAM, a complete connectivity set and 16GB internal storage. The whole thing’s running on Android’s latest – v2.2 Froyo.
Key features
- 190.09 x 120.45 x 11.98mm, 380g
- Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support
- Full GSM phone calling functionality
- 7" 16M-color TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen of WSVGA (600 x 1024) pixel resolution, Gorilla Glass
- Android OS v2.2 with TouchWiz 3.0 UI customization
- 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird CPU
- PowerVR SGX540 graphics accelerator
- 512 MB of RAM
- 3.2 MP autofocus camera with smile detection and geo-tagging
- D1 (720 x 480 pixels) video recording at 30fps
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n support
- GPS with A-GPS connectivity; Digital compass
- 16GB internal storage, microSD slot
- DivX and XviD video codec support, Full HD video playback
- HD video out (with a proprietary dock)
- Accelerometer, ambient-light and gyro sensor
- Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
- 30-pin connector and stereo Bluetooth v3.0
- Office document editor
- Secondary video-call camera
- Swype predictive text input
- Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support
- Stereo speakers
- 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery
- Great audio quality
Main disadvantages
- Poor viewing angles
- Picture ghosting due to slow LCD response
- Some apps incompatible with the new resolution
- Gallery displays downsized images only
- Quiet loudspeaker
- No FM radio
- No USB host support
That’s a long list of features but the full phone functionality is perhaps what sets it apart from the arch-enemy. Soon enough however, the Galaxy Tab will have other things to worry about than a certain Apple slate. With the likes of Dell Streak and even RIM’s PlayBook around, the Samsung tablet will be trying harder to convince users it’s the perfect fit between a phone and a laptop.

Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab live shots
When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab they stated that its purpose was not to rival the iPad but to bring something different to the tablet market. This might have just been a face saving statement but it’s obvious the iPad and the Galaxy Tab are each aimed at quite different types of users.
Samsung Galaxy P1000 Tab over Apple iPad
- Lighter and smaller, easier on the pocket
- Telephony (including 3G video calls)
- 3.2 MP camera with D1 video recording @ 30 fps and LED flash
- Android OS v2.2 Froyo
- Proper multitasking (though the iPad is getting that too in a couple of months)
- microSD card slot for memory expansion
- Uses regular size SIM card
- 16:9 widescreen display
- Adobe Flash player 10.1
- DivX/XviD 1080p video playback
- Bluetooth 3.0

Sony Ericsson Yendo review: A touch of Walkman
21:02
sotar sadewa
It looks like the XPERIA X10 mini but acts like what it is – a full-touch feature phone. This is obviously nothing really to shout about as there are hundreds of them around now. It’s a first for Sony Ericsson but that’s not what makes it special either. The Sony Ericsson Yendo will not stand being treated like just another touchscreen dumbphone. That Walkman badge commands a different level of respect. Now, does it really or is it what the Yendo likes to think? There isn’t much this little fella can actually promise you. But you’ll be glad to hear the Sony Ericsson Yendo can keep its word. The Walkman logo implies above average sonic experience that the phone does well to deliver. Here is what else to expect from the Sony Ericsson Yendo. It isn’t much but there’s enough to be excited about in terms of social skills and a positive personality. The Yendo is the first feature phone to come with the Four corner UI, as seen on the XPERIA X10 mini. While it is offering little new, it’s still nice looking and intuitive. And that is very important when it comes to touch phones. The expected price of around 100 euro is another point in favor. And the Walkman branding makes it all the sweeter. As for the other features, they’re mostly nice to have but not essential in a package of this kind. Yes, there is a camera on board for example, but with limited functionality and unimpressive image quality. The touchscreen is on the small size and the resolution is low. On the other hand, the user interface is both thumbable and eye-pleasing so you might not notice the screen’s downsides. You’re welcome to follow us on the next page, as we discover the Yendo. The invitation is still good even if you think there isn’t much to discover. There’re many people shopping for basic touch phones. We guess a Walkman phone that fits the description is sure to draw crowds.
